This Friday's video gives a look into what we might call the "wisdom of the elders."
For example, the painter Chuck Close says that, "Inspiration is for amateurs. The rest of us just show up and get to work. If you wait around for the clouds to part and a bolt of lightening to strike you in the brain, you're not going to make a lot of work."
The same applies to practice, of course. Reading about Buddhism, talking about Buddhism, and thinking about Buddhism is like waiting for a bolt of lightening. Our work is practice and we need to get to it every day.
