Twenty-three years ago, when I was just beginning Zen practice, I met a long-time practitioner who told me that he was going on a 100-day solo retreat to "face my demons."
Demons? I had no idea that Zen practice involved demons. Actually, I had no idea about demons at all and the whole thing seemed pretty non-Zennish to me.
I returned last week from my own 100-day solo retreat and, if nothing else, I now understand something about demons.
Over the next couple of weeks, I'll write about what it's like to keep a disciplined meditation schedule for 100 days. I'll even try to describe the demons and demonettes that joined me in the retreat. Thanks for your patience over the past several months.
Aw welcome back! I can't wait to read your new posts.
