Recently I came across a real-time model of wind flowing ceaselessly across the Earth.
The above image captures one moment of this flow but if you click here, you'll discover a real-time, global view of wind in all its remarkable glory.
I say "wind" rather than "winds" because the model reveals an interdependent, worldwide system in which every wind arises from upstream winds while also feeding downstream winds.
Each place on the planet has wind, in some places forceful, in others mild. But no place remains untouched by the movement of air.
After looking at this model, you might step outside and feel the wind in your face. Perhaps you'll recollect how it got there. Perhaps you'll smile.
