Life happens quickly on the dry, north slopes of Mt. Rainier. The plants and animals have about 10 snow-free weeks to get on with it. And they do get on with the work of procreating, in the most spectacular ways.
These beings don't moan about their circumstances . . . they just do it!
Creatures that know their true job seem to have an urgency that I can't often muster. But the snows will come, no matter what.
