This post prompted a search to find more about Won Hyo and eventually led to finding this film. It's a sweet and poignant documentary retracing Won Hyo Sunim's path. Thought I'd share. Deep thanks.

Thanks for the insightful quotations. Won Hyo's teachings certainly warrants further investigation on my part. Thankfully there is always room in my Dharma library for another addition lol. And a deep bow to Miguel for posting the URL to "In The Footsteps of Wonhyo" on YouTube ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hQZXUcLdGfI ). Certainly a movie that is worth more than one viewing to garner all the subtle messages.

  • Zen teachers sometimes use the Ten Ox Herding Pictures to describe the path of awakening. Within this metaphorical framework, the ox symbolizes the secretive, unruly human mind.
